if you meet someone called BREMBO out and about on your travels and he tells you he designed a tomtom program for coach drivers which he charges a tenner for on coach parks please feel free to point out:

A)im flattered he's copied my idea-but not so he's using my program.

B)if your gonna use my program would you mind using the up to date one,not the one from 2 YEARS AGO-which by the way has a virus which will make your tomtom run slower and slower til it starts seizing up and cant find a route.as soon as i discovered it was changed and all affected navs put right.iv just had one fetched to me-thats how i know.

C)stop charging drivers a TENNER.originally i charged a fiver, which i stopped doing when i earned enough to cover costs.the program can be downloaded FREE from tomtom home.

TIPS!!!

got a tomtom.

A)make sure you update it regulary as possible.ideally once a week.especially if you have mapshare
B)if you dont have mapshare but have a 500 700 or any newer model(go up in tens eg 510)consider buying a new map so you can have mapshare.its free and brilliant cos it corrects faults on the map(BUT!!! it doesnt add missing roads...you need a new map for that)
C) update your speed cameras regular basis.only costs 20 quid a year and its really good
D) if in doubt let me know your number il try meet up with you and update for you

Which program would that be?

Mapshare is far from brilliant, it is one of the worst ideas Tomtom have ever had, the amount of false mapshare submissions is enough to knacker your map good and proper.

I am really interested in which program you developed for Tomtom

iv been doing driver poi's for years now.have a look at coach parks for drivers, coach drop off points, weight limits, narrow roads, unsafe for coaches,no coaches etc, coach drivers attractions is very useful as is low bridges-but set it up right on your tomtom.just go to tomtom home to down load but look for mkII and III versions not the originals.tomtom are not very good at removing the old ones even when asked a hundred times! iv also done one for schools but its lacking in a lot of areas, speed humps, london theatres.

totally agree there are some right nutcases uploading some stupid stuff to mapshare.i would recommend only having mapshare set to ones approved by tomtom-or at the lowest level approved by many.never set to approved by a few

I save every destination, drop off and coach park into my sat nav but as I use TomTom Navigator on Windows Mobile I cannot share with regular TomTom users :disgust1: Also means my maps are constantly out of date because Navigator users seem to be back of the queue for updates. :****ed:

One day we might have compatibility between all TomTom products.........

Cheers

Just a question Dupleman, do you do poi's for any other sat nav? I tried Tom Tom, but could never get on with the graphics and workings, so switched to the clearer easier to use Becker brand.

The becker are magnificent in every respect, except the poi's, which are severley lacking unless I'm looking for a mcdonalds or a run of the mill tourist attraction.

I wish I knew, how could I find out?

I did try to download from the DKV site some POI's once and I'm fairly sure they were same if not similar to Tom Tom.

guess who came and approached me at the trafford centre? no i didnt hit him!!! it was funny though cos he was telling me all about the benefits and how he had been building this program for years.......but hey he's got a special offer on he's doing it for 8 quid....and when i said id only got a fiver he said he'd do it for that.....hmmmm good business man then.i told him id got one already but could he put his one on too so i could compare....which he did.......and yes low and behold its my old one,and its not even been updated, coach parking still shows york barbican.what a quality individual.so i came over all roger cook and told him who i was and asked him why was he ripping drivers off.he went bright red grabbed his laptop and jumped off, walked away calling me all the names god sent.tell anyone trying to sell you this program to bog off.its free on tomtom home and this clown is ripping folk off.he told me he's an driver now-which i dont think he is- and he carries a large leather briefcase, wears a shirt and tie and looks very official.no card and phone number alas!

:smilie3: i have been using navman since it first came on the market, in fact it looked like a brick stuck on the windscreen. i am now looking at the v703 with tv included but hey, you cant watch tele whilt driving, so it could be the s555 uk&s/irland and europe as well. now one thing i have had no luck with and that is a programe for low bridges and the like for navman so if any one out there knows of one please let me know. as for me there is no other than navman as i have been to many european countries and it only let me down once, (well i'm not going to say i put the wrong info in am i) so if you want to know more about navman let me know.
