Hello all,

As I mentioned I am looking at getting back to the driving game and seems like there are a few changes since I was last behind the wheel. One being electronic tachos. I notice you need to have a Drivers Card am I better applying for one now or wait until I start for whatever company I may get a job with??

Cheers,

Gaz

Alot of companies tend not to pay for one for you so your probably best getting one now yourself then we you get a job you can say you have a digi graph. If you get a job then apply it could take a while to come through, meaning you can only drive paper ones - and if that coach is out for instance, you would have nothing to drive.

Forgot to add, they are only £38

Yes better to get one now. All coaches manufactured after 06 has to have one by law. It may limit your choice of company if you can only drive coaches with paper tachos.

little hint when you get it make sure you keep it clean and dont let the mag strip get scratched or you gonna have to get it replaced, and if dvla find its your fault they will charge you another £38, also sometimes they stick, and wont load, if that happens remove the card, isolate the vehicle and try again repeat until it works lol. they can be quite funny at times these little bits of plastic!!!

Chances are you wont need it at first anyway, you know what its like when you start a new job they dont give you the cream you gotta prove yourself first lol.

You should find out what the company are doing regarding Driver CPC Training.

You need 35 hours training over 5 years between Sept 2008 & Sept 2013.
Everyone has got to do it, to retain their licence, so a few enquiries should sort it out.

Good luck:clap:
