Just drive on past it and pee in a bottle!!

The whole set up is stressfull full stop, if you fancy a bite you have huge queues for KFC or Burger king AND the restaurants are situated on a bridge over the motorway. So you gulp down the food as you watch traffic getting heavier and the stress returning.

3/10 for (3 for) clean toilets

If I remember rightly its a Roadchef southbound :good3:, dont think i've ever been northbound tbh.

No doubt i'll learn all about service areas once im on the road. Don't tend to use then other than for a quick pee lol:shock3:

Had to stop at Charnock Richard North tonight at 8.30pm. Could hardly get in for trucks filling the coach area. Only 1 coach bay open, 2 others coned off.
Seems they don't want coaches in the evening with 51 passengers, they would rather charge Truckers for a night out.

Your Honour. I think someone should put the case for the defence.

As is mentioned elsewhere, the company I work for deliver new buses and most of the ADL Enviro 200/300/400/500 range (which are manufactured in Falkirk) need re-fuelling on their way down to Southampton docks or in and around the Metrolops.

Quite a few of them are now fitted with an anti-diesel theft device - which is a special nozzle which is attached to the fuel filler pipe in much the same way as those on an F1 racing car. It's called a posifiller and 'ours' is kept at the southbound services at Charnock Richard. As a consequence, we use the place quite a lot - not only to refuel but, since our Scottish-based drivers sometimes do a change-over with other drivers from 'down' south, we often stay at the Welcome Break hotel on the northbound side.

I have to say, therefore, perhaps because we're quite well known to the regular staff, we're treated very well by one and all. Furthermore, the fact that the aforementioned 'hotel' is one of very few on a motorway which has a licensed bar, you can imagine it's one of the more popular choices when 'overnighting' come into the equation.

That said, I must admit that the HGVs make it almost impossible to park on either side.

Jonny,

Although Charnock Richard is part of the Welcome Break group, I think most of us agree with your sentiments about Moto.
