Doing Lake Garda in october, did it 3 years ago, been told by a driver yesterday that you now need passes for visiting the popular destinations, Verona etc, is this right ? and does any one know where to obtain these passes, I believe you have to have the passes before you go, cheers:drinks_cheers:

Dont think theres a tax for verona but the parking by the old city walls taht used to be free is now quite expensive. Last time we went about 2 years ago we dropped off there but paked near the fiera which you pass signs for on the way in

The website at xxx shows the details in Italian. There's a €30 daily charge which can be pre-paid on line or bought at surrounding service areas (A22, A4 etc).

I can't post the website link address directly into this note - but it is www (dot) amt (dot) it/amt.

The €30 is just for Verona. Other Italian cities do there own thing - with not much consistency - but the "ZTL-Bus" restricted areas are getting more and more common.

was in verona last year and they had a toll on the way into the city before the city walls nobody asked for any money so we just went to the parking which was expensive but it is italy so it will be .

:driving:all i know about verona is its one of the cheapest places to visit in italy at the moment, as said you need a large float to visit venice, florence and many of the other popular places, so take a wad with you.:driving:
